Hi, I’m Rio
Burnout, overwhelm and feeling stuck can show up in so many areas of life including parenting, work, relationships, identity and the expectations we place on ourselves.
Before moving into this work, I spent over a decade working in finance, often in high pressure environments. Like many people I became very good at keeping everything going even when I wasn't always checking in with how I was actually feeling.
My own experiences of navigating work, family life, change and loss eventually led me to take a step back and question what I really wanted. That became the beginning of a major career change and my journey into counselling and wellbeing work.
Today I offer a warm person centred approach to coaching supporting people who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure about what comes next.
Coaching can be particularly helpful if you're struggling with organisation, routines, motivation, procrastination, confidence or the feeling that you're constantly trying to catch up.
We can explore what is getting in the way and find practical approaches that work for you rather than trying to fit you into someone else's idea of how you should be functioning.
Life coaching can also provide space to think about bigger questions such as navigating change, building confidence, setting boundaries, making decisions, understanding what you want and taking steps towards a life that feels more aligned with you.
My approach
I don't believe you need someone to tell you how to live your life.
I believe you already have your own strengths, experiences and ability to make choices. Sometimes though we need somewhere safe to slow down, think things through and reconnect with what we actually need.
My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. There is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.
Depending on what you're experiencing our work might involve exploring patterns that are keeping you stuck, understanding overwhelm, building confidence, creating healthier routines or simply giving yourself permission to pause.
Why nature?
The name Touch Grass comes from my own experience of reconnecting with nature.
During difficult periods of my life, I found something healing & grounding in simply stepping outside. Nature gave me space to pause, breathe and process what I was carrying. There was something about the stillness that helped me reconnect with myself.
That experience continues to influence, and the same philosophy sits at the heart of my online work too.
Counselling coming soon
I am currently completing my Level 5 counselling training and working towards offering person centred counselling early April next year.
My longer term aim is to bring together counselling, wellbeing and nature based work to support people experiencing overwhelm, burnout, life transitions and loss.
If you're feeling like life has become a little too much you don't have to figure it all out at once. Sometimes the first step is simply having somewhere to start.
